TRUSTY Family HistoryThis is a late medieval occupation descriptive name given to a professional witness, in effect an early Solicitor, the name deriving from the Olde French "Attester" - one who testifies or vouches for a contract or agreement. The modern spellings are Trustee, an in Johannes Trustee who was baptised at St. Martins in the Field, Westminster in 1665 and Trusty. A Maryllis Trusty being christened also at St. Martins in the Field on the 26th May 1689. It is possible that the name has Huguenot Associations, although this is not proven.
