HOWARD Family History

When the final definitive history of famous English surnames is written, the surname of Howard will surely be near the head of the list. It appears no less than seventy-five times in the British National Biography, whilst thirty-seven coats of arms have been granted to the name holders. The highest heraldic rank in England is that of Earl Marshall, responsible for all events in which the monarch takes a ceremonial role. This title is held by the Duke of Norfolk, whose family descend from Sir William Howard who died in 1308. Lord Howard of Effingham was the victor over the Spanish Armada in 1588, not Sir Francis Drake as is popularly recorded...

I am looking for the daughter of a Sir & Lady Howard, that had a daughter that run off with a dance master (possibly a coachmen) named Michael Brennan who was Catholic. Michael Brennan and daughter Howard had 5 children, Esther, Michael, John, Eliza, and Mary. I come through Esther Brennan, who was born in November 1816 in Dublin, Dublin, Ireland. (That is what her headstone claims). Family legend states that the daughter of the Howards lived in an Irish castle and that they were Protestant. My ancestor Esther Brennan came to Canada with with husband and oldest daughter in the later 1830's. Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Aron Howard

My Grandfather moved to England in the 30 s from county Cork ,James Albert Howard ( Jim) . They moved to Ipswich Suffolk and he married Patricia Calver in 1949. I cannot find any information on him anywhere! Does anyone have any information? I believe he was in Harwich when he died sometime in the mid 70 s, he fell down the stairs which killed him. He and Patricia had a son Michael Howard and I am his son Aron Howard.
