    Hi Patricia

Currently we’ve put the majority of the 2,000 top Irish tribes into regions based on the origin of those names.

In the next phase of development 101 members be able to pick specific regions they are associated with.

Hope you had a good Paddy’s Day!

    Cheers

I’ve been put in Barrett Tribe from Cork. I’m a Baireid from Connaught. Could I be placed in the Barrett tribe from Mayo. My whole relationship Barretts,Dempsey McHales and Hughes come from Knockmore and Foxford. I would rather be among the Mayo Barretts. Thank you for your help.

    Hi David

    Thanks for your email.

    1) Sorry your location is wrong, this is info we receive from Google mapping, you can turn off your location, it’s not always right.

2). Image uploads are difficult because we have to ensure the general public can’t upload dangerous files/viruses etc and to make that leap of faith requires a lot of IT spend. I’d love to be able to provide it but it won’t be for a while.

Many thanks for your email David.

    Kind regards
    Stephen

I would like to find my Ireland roots.
The Campion’s come from Normandy France. They were a large part of the huganout movement to Ireland,England,Aus.and Nz.. One family went to Spain. I come from the Eng. line but have tied into Aus. and NZ.. I hope to take the Campion’s back to Normandy,France.

Thanks Ray, I made those changes on the site. If you suggest a pub trail we can put it on the site and get the other visitors to vote?

    Great work

    couple of typos

Mountbatten was Charlies uncle not philips (might offend the neighbours)and the long hall is older than 1970s, (love sitting in the spot Phil Lynott sat in for his video shoot of Old Town)

as an idea what about doing something around responsibly established pub trails, Clearys beside the IFSC, Molloys of Talbot St. Gaffneys in Fairvew, Harry Byrnes on howth road,…. oops this list is begining to sound like a Dart crawl to Howth.

Since relocating discovering Cork gems as well, Costigans, The Hi B etc.

With the laws changing these institutions need a bit of support, a few trails of five pubs would do no harm and could be fun researching.

    Keep up the good work

Your name translator is a bit misleading, basically if you put reilly it comes out ‘raghallaigh’ and if you put in o’reilly it comes out ó raghallaigh, which is mis leading since Reilly is Ó Raghallaigh too. Good site though, at least the names are connected
